Mia's Senior Portraits in Scottsdale: The perfect blend of "green" meets "desert"

Mia crushed her senior photo session! Her sweet mom told me she wasn't naturally comfortable in front of the camera (as many many people aren't!) and we just took our time, made easy conversation, I gave her lots of suggestions and posing guidance via example, found her beautiful best angles and before you know it, she came alive and was like a pro model! :-)

These two nearby spots offer the perfect mix of urban/green and open desert for Scottsdale based high school senior portraits. I absolutely love photographing seniors and have had to honor to work with kids from most of the city's schools, private and public. This combination (location wise) is super popular for those who book one of my top two senior portrait packages because it offers a ton of variety for several outfits, and hits the right mix of iconic desert (perfect at sunset) and urban/rustic/green.

A note about these spots: I've been photographing people at this location for more than 20 years now, and yes its busy and popular, but honestly, I find new things and ways to shoot it every time I'm there, and it constantly changes throughout the year in terms of lighting, foliage, annual rain fall, how busy it is, etc.

I love shooting in new locations and going off the beaten path, but I have a ton of families who prefer to keep things local, easy and reliably beautiful, and this spot delivers for that. I know all the nooks and crannies here, how the light is going to hit at certain times, so where to best start and where to best end and the results are beautiful every time.
